Pool Cleaning Tools

3D Pools and Landscape Pool Cleaning Tools

We all love pools here in the greater Houston area. Pools are a fantastic source of literal cool fun in the heat of summer. However, it is also true that while pools are fun, they are also prone to getting dirty quickly. From leaves, grass pieces, sand, dirt, and anything else that might blow into the pool, having the right tools to clean your pool is vital for your enjoyment of it during the summer months. There are limitless options on the internet today, so we don’t want to direct you to anyone’s product, but rather direct you to general products that will help you in cleaning your pool.

Pools are incredibly prone to having a bunch of leaves sit on top of the water and having leaves drop down to the bottom of the pool, especially if you have multiple trees close to your pool. The first tool you will want is a versatile one. You will want to purchase a telescoping pool pole. Telescoping pool poles are extendable poles that can go on multiple different tools used for cleaning the pool. Without this pole, cleaning the pool will require you to get into the pool every time and while that might seem nice during a hot humid Houston day, it’s simply not practical. The Telescoping pool pole can attach to multiple different cleaning tools and the first one is the simple leaf skimmer. This tool looks like a simple net, and that’s exactly what it is. Its simplicity does not make it any less important for keeping your pool clean. The leaf skimmer is very effective in getting the leaves off of the top of the water. If you get the leaf rake (which has a bag attached) it can actually help you get leaves off the bottom of your pool. There is of course some manual labor that comes with having a leaf skimmer or rake, but if you consistently use the tool, you’ll find your workload to be minimal at best.

If you are only using a leaf skimmer to clean the bottom of the pool, you’ll find that the work is quite difficult and takes a long time. This is why we suggest investing in a good automatic pool vacuum and leaf gulpers. There are manual vacuums that work quite well, but the automatic vacuums and leaf gulpers turn on when your pool pump comes on and it works for you while you’re off doing other things. These vacuums and gulpers need to be emptied often if your pool bottom is dirty but it can suck up the leaves, sticks, mud, sand, and whatever else happens to be on the bottom of your pool. While these vacuums are typically more expensive, you will save significant time cleaning your pool with one of these working for you.

The final tool that is needed to clean a pool is the pool brush. The vacuum is able to suck up so much from the bottom of the pool, but it cannot climb walls and stairs. This is where a pool brush comes in. You will need to consistently brush off all steps and any different levels of the pool so as to clean them and push the debris to the bottom floor of the pool for the vacuum to suck up. The brush needs to also be used regularly on the walls of the pool. This will prevent staining from happening and once again will allow the vacuum to suck up whatever falls down. The brush will need to be attached to the telescoping pool pole in order for it to reach down to the bottom of the pool.

These are the basic tools that every pool owner needs in order to make sure that his or her pool is clean and ready for use whenever desired. While 3D Pools and Landscape does not offer these tools, they can be found online and in select stores.
